Iaspis expertbesök Alejandra Aguado föreläser på Lunds Konsthall

Economies/Ecologies of Art. Creativity vs resources in contemporary Argentine art. Föreläsning av den argentinske curatorn Alejandra Aguado. Lunds konsthall torsdag, 3 maj 2018, 18.00.
Alejandra Aguado will present and discuss the work of contemporary argentine artists that focus their practice around the tensions between the conditions, possibilities and limitations that they face in their environments and the creative process itself. She will argue that their practices trigger a reflection on art as waste, and on the intrinsic urge to create, that in their cases often turns frustration into willpower.

Alejandra Aguado (Buenos Aires,1976) is a curator based in Buenos Aires, co-founder and co-director of Móvil, an independent non-profit organisation with a particular focus on experimentation, geared to commissioning young Argentine artists first solo projects. She has in collaboration with Debora Voges  from Lunds konsthall curated this year’s Lunds konsthall Ute programme, which will showcase video works by emerging Argentine contemporary artists. Lunds konsthall Ute is a yearly programme of temporary public art installations curated by Lunds konsthall in the city centre.

We will start the evening with refreshments at 6 pm followed by a short introduction by Debora Voges from Lunds konsthall. Alejandra Aguado’s talk will be about 30 minutes and will be held in English. There will be time for questions after the talk. Free entrance.

Alejandra Aguado’s visit has been made possible through the support of IASPIS, the Swedish Arts Grants Committee's international programme for Visual and Applied Artists.
